I am a visual artist, dramaturg, scenographer and costume designer. I use my skills in visual art to develop scenic projects. I have also worked as a director, project manager for art exhibitions and writer in culture.

I get inspiration from the human factors that govern our lives and from social phenomena.

However, he has the audacity to skilfully combine reality and fantasy –animal forms and human forms- like elements: wings, fishes, bulls, -half man or woman, half animal-side by side, transparent, in a fascinating, harmonious game with a dreamlike weight. For sure Estoardo Barrios Carrillo reveals himself as a genuinely creative artist, he is not only a doer, on the contrary, he has imagination and personality. His inventiveness reveals itself in the ability and spontaneity of the brushwork with which he manages to combine the exterior existence with his interior personal world. On the other hand, in his work you can

notice great honesty in the use of materials. There are no improvisations, on the contrary, you easily see that he knows the handicraft. Estoardo draws directly with the pencil, without any hesitation or escapes, in total

freedom, very much in the opposite of artists who make abstract art as a way to conceal lack of skills.”

"EBC was born in Guatemala, one of the highlights of his career was to win the ”Glifo de Plata” of the Paiz Art Biennial in Guatemala 1994, another when he participated in the "VI International Art Biennial in Cuenca/Ecuador” in 1998. But he has also successfully initiated cultural events such as a being the curator for ”Suecia Exotika, swedish graphic” (exhibited in 8 countries in Latinamerica) and ”Sweden/Caribbean art” in 1996 between Caribbean countries and Sweden. 

In 1988 he did the exhibition “Meet the World” which toured in 120 cities in Sweden during 4 years. 

EBC also worked like consult for the Modern Museum in Stockholm in 2001, where he collaborated with aseries of cultural events during the Botero exhibition in the museum, as well as being the artistic director of the multimedia performance ”Latinamerika” in the theatre of the museum. In 2001 he started an experimental dance theatre project that performed, ”Jack, about culture and globalisation” in the place Stallet (www.stallet.st) and the Ethnographical Museum of
